Some homes are decorated.
Others are collected over time.
Morgan Paradise belongs to the latter.
The home was designed from thousands of kilometres away by Mpumi and Lloyd while they were living in California, but the vision was always rooted firmly in Paradise Beach.
They imagined an open, contemporary home built into the dune – one where natural light, generous spaces and views of the Indian Ocean would become part of everyday life.
But what gives Morgan Paradise its character are the details that came afterwards.
One of the most meaningful is the staircase balustrade.
Lloyd discovered a beautiful piece of timber that had come from the ocean, brought it home and worked on it himself, transforming it into a functional piece of art that remains part of the house today.
Then there is the solid timber dining table.
Lloyd searched for months before eventually finding exactly what he wanted from a family in Port Elizabeth.
Today, the table sits at the social heart of Morgan Paradise – a place for breakfasts that become conversations, dinners that stretch into the evening and families who linger around the table a little longer.
Mpumi’s touch can be felt throughout the rest of the home.
She embraces its industrial architecture while introducing warmth through thoughtful décor, organisation and those small practical details that make arriving somewhere unfamiliar feel surprisingly easy.
Together, these elements are what make Morgan Paradise more than a beautiful coastal property.
They make it a home with a story.
